Will using sandbox tools for game multiple openings lead to bans?

You are permitted to open two game clients on a single physical computer. Rather than messing around with VMs or the like, I'd suggest just installing both the standalone and Steam clients to make life a bit more straightforward (assuming you live in a region where PoE is available on Steam).

Bear in mind that you have to manually control each character at all times. You can't use any form of automation - which GGG strictly interprets as including any form of software which would broadcast input to multiple clients. When you press one button on the keyboard at one time, a single character in a single client can undertake one single action. Anything else puts your accounts at risk.

Yes, this will lead to a ban as the sandbox tool is 3rd party and would circumvent the restrictions set by ToS.

Thank you, I did not want to use any automation otherwise I would not have asked this question.
My goal is to open multiple clients and increase drop income for characters at the same time. If using VMs or the sandbox but manually controlling each character, will it be banned?

What does this even mean? GGG didn't develop my GPU driver - will I be banned, too?

Chris Wilson explicitly granted people permission to run two copies of Path of Exile at the same time on the same physical computer. Some people live in regions where Path of Exile is not available on Steam. You will not get banned for running two copies of the game client. I would further note that issues doing this with a single install are a technical limitation, not a design decision.

Similarly, running more than two Path of Exile game clients on one physical computer can result in a ban regardless of whether you're using "sandbox tools" to achieve that.

I've posted a thread read by over 200,000 people about GGG's macro-related policies. It's common for people to try working around the rules - "what if I use my keyboard software?", "what if I use AutoHotKey?", "what if I use a physical stick across multiple buttons?" But GGG's policies apply to anything they view as gameplay automation; regardless of the precise method used.

You're making the same mistake here.

GGG's policy is to permit running two instances of the game at once, and to forbid anything in excess of that. You're losing the forest for the trees and discussing how someone goes about running two copies of the game client (which GGG allows them to do) when that's neither here nor there.

I interpreted the term "sandbox tools" as an actual multiboxing 3rd party software like ISboxer as these tools also use that term. I am terribly sorry for my mistake.

Ah, sorry - I hadn't considered that possibility!

Yeah, fair shout; those would absolutely result in a ban.
