Twitch: D4 - 4,7k | PoE2 - 2.5k | PoE1 - 2.4k
This is just crazy. Since I dropped this game online continue to drop as well. Twitch statistics represents how horrible PoE2 and GGG's mistake about this game is. PoE2 - the new and hyped game lost to Diablo4.

Yeah that's brutal. Surely they have to understand what this patch did.
PoE2 netted so many new people to the genre and then poof, gone. Potentials and casuals who would probably give the game a go aren't differentiating between "Path of Exile 1" and "Path of Exile 2". They just see "path of exile" and path of exile got a lot of negative attention. And I mean a LOT of it. All of those sweeping nerfs will hurt for a long time to come and frankly, some of those people will never come back. I can't help but to ask myself why. So what the heralds chained together. Who cares if spark was as strong as it was? Who cares if pillar was strong? What makes this egregious are the tags to skills. Why does herald of plague require a martial weapon? Same with herald of ash? Why can't a fire mage use herald of ash? What is the point in preventing this? Who cares if someone wants to make their own archetype? Were all of those sweeping changes worth it? I sincerely believe the devs should stop worrying about all of the different ways that they can kill the player or what will "get us". Instead, focus on what's fun. Feeling over powered is fun. Wicked fun. It's what AARPGs are about. And right now, there is a lot of anti-fun. Trials are not fun. Using the same tool to trade as you do to craft is not fun. I really need a new quarterstaff. In trying to "craft" one, I've used money to trade for one. I just wanted to do it myself. Some ascendancies aren't fun and really (THESE NEED TO BE FUNCTIONAL BEFORE ADDING ANOTHER CLASS....like what are you thinking?) Trading is not fun. Not finding a piece of gear that you need after killing a million mobs is not fun. Running the campaign twice in a row every league is not fun. I don't think they should listen to all of the player's ideas and add them to the game. However, when someone says something isn't fun (the entire point of a video game), listen. The direction and everything that has taken place since the game launched on steam feels an awful lot like someone's ego. I sound harsh but that's because I like it. Didn't really play Poe1 and didn't touch d4. If i like a game, i'll stick with it and will probably stick with this for a long time. There is no content for streamers to show, many gave up and wait for 0.3/3.26. We know at this point league is dead.
"We've just spent six years making expansions for path of exile, so imagine if we released path of exile 2 and it was just a bare campaign with none of that extra content. This would be a sad shell of an action RPG compared to the current state of path of exile."

The league was DOA, the game is so devoid of things to do most the streamers/super players destroy the game in a week or less -- just like POE 1.
We are bored to tears by week 2, as we've had NOTHING to do for at least a whole week already. Here's the big difference... In POE 1, By week 3 we are starting our 2nd/3rd characters, and are thinking of quitting or soon. In POE 2, we are done by week 2. There is nothing to do, nothing to enjoy, very few fun skills to try, and most importantly the campaign is toxic sludge and only cutting it in 1/4 of the size can save it -- Most POE 1 players legitimately thing with such a large, painfully un-fun campaign, that they literally DO NOT want us playing more than one character... GGG has said otherwise, and it shocked most of us. I don't see how they can design this campaign and think we'd like anything about it. It's the #1 thing keeping most players from having fun. |

" Simply because the game is just like PoE 1, designed and tailored around trading, imported all the frictions and problems PoE 1 had but refused to also import all solutions. Let start with ; "So what the heralds chained together." This become "problematic" in the community because how effective this setup is in clearing-speed, resulting in those that don't using it have worse clearing-speed. Now, in a vacuum this should be not a problem because why should someone that doesn't use it care that much for the one that having fun using it. But in the game, it makes someone that doesn't utilize it to be very inefficient and have major disadvantages in the game. Why ? because the game is balanced and tailored around trading, the game have a competitive economic environment where efficiency is the key to success. So naturally, when someone refuse to use the META / most efficient method to gather resources, they will be inefficient in gathering resources and resulting in lower purchasing power or having a hard time in competing in the market. And in a game where everything is balanced and tailored around trading, doing that will be a major disadvantages in character progression. Despite this problem already existed in PoE 1, PoE 1 have numerous solutions to cut the bridge between builds in "Grinding" resources in order to be competitive in the market. While there are game mechanics that reward speed clearing, there are also mechanics that doesn't heavily revolve around speed clear. Builds that can't clear 10 screens-wide, moving at 100mach speed, still can farm resources efficient enough. And not only there are game mechanics that accommodate "slower" builds, the whole game structure of PoE 1 doesn't diminish the reward from those mechanics to the point of only 1 or 2 type of loot is worth the time and most of the loot worth is based on trade economic value instead of the actual function of the loot. Prime example is omen. Take a look at Whittling, dextral / sinistral annulment omens. Majority of players will start the economic value calculation of those omens instead of planning which items they should use them at. And essences, click and forget, just like exalt. Now also apply that to : "Who cares if spark was as strong as it was? Who cares if pillar was strong?" When the game revolved around resources acquisition efficiency, players will always gravitate toward efficient, if not the most efficient method to gather resources in order to progress their character. After all, one of the core pillar of Path of Exile is itemization. When certain builds / methods / archetype dominates the META, then everything will revolve around it, and all aspects of the game will ended up balanced around those META or the top 1%-10% players. This would be fine if the whole structure of the game system, itemization, and atlas are more or less the same like PoE 1, but its not in PoE 2. 0.1 shown this disparity really well because everything was about farming breach. What do they did later in 0.1 and 0.2 release ? Refuse to acknowledge the whole system is pidgeon-holed into "kill things fast, kill things alot" system in order to gather resources, nerfing breach mobs but still condensed loot in rare monster, still defending the slot machine "crafting system", and even adding Azmerian Wisp that is only god knows why it works like this, while still trying to make PoE 2 different from PoE 1 and yet the core foundation of the game is just still basically the same. What is PoE 2 wants to be ? A prettier clone of PoE 1 with added dodge roll but with more tedium instead of fun ? |

D4 just dropped a new season...every streamer is playing the fresh content. No shit D4 would have more views on Twitch.
POE1 doomers need to go away and touch grass for like 6 months. |

" POE 1 "doomers" haven't had content in a year, and the last two years that content was run by only 10 people, so it was pretty mild... We've been touching grass for over a year now, we just want our game back homie. And while there's fresh content in D4, numbers for twitch POE 1 were never ever this low -- very low viewership was like 10-20k for most POE 1 leagues.
