CustomAlertSound random doesnt work.

"
Plays the specified item alert sound file when the item appears. Multiple files can be specified, separated by a semicolon, in which case a random one will be played. Overrides PlayAlertSound and PlayAlertSoundPositional. Can be disabled by specifying "None".

"...separated by a semicolon..." i have tried to separate it
CustomAlertSound "a.mp3; b.mp3" 300
CustomAlertSound "a.mp3"; "b.mp3" 300
Tried full path, nothing works. how to make random loot filter sound to appear?

The directions given by your quoted post work fine.
I edited one of mine and added a random second audio file.
Make sure both audio files are located in the same folder as your filters.

I'm looking at the poe2 filter, and I'm running into the same issue you're describing.
I'm not sure if it's possible yet.
