I love the slower pace
I just downloaded the game and I have yet to see the end-game, but I am loving the slower pace so far.

" There is no slower pace in the end game. Be warned now :) |

Boo :(
Back when there was a war on the forums between those who wanted faster pace and those who wanted slower, I was def in the slower camp. Well I'll keep playing and see how it goes. |

I agree!
It's a much more pleasing and roguelike experience. I don't spend all my time evaluating gear; I'm actually playing! I honestly wish there was a ruthless mode to this. |

The pace of the game is not an issue, but the problem with how progression is tied.
If you are not 'fast' the progression is simply gated behind lower level white mobs and random yellows again and again. There is just not enough draw to play Trial of Sekhemas, or Chaos without proper end game gear, unless you want to see the same shit and dying to random stray shit, like after death effects. Also the game suffers enormously with its 'vision'. The devs want to slow progression yet the game rewards 1 shots and fast clears. There is no incentive to take things slow, example like Monster Hunter 4. You may have to hunt the same damn mojo 1498 billion times before he drops a gem. It was extremely fun. You just had to hunt him, and each hunt is different. Sure it may get stale, but there are other monster parts to gather, and it never is boring when you meet up with other hunters. In this game, the experience is simply isolated to which is the fastest clear build. And then you see people joining open parties and lighting the map up with a single skill like in PoE 1. There are definitely multiple ways to slow the game down but the devs seem to be stuck on giving the same chicken packaged in a different flavor. At this point, I am simply considering purchasing some currency from RMT just so that I can fast track to 'end' game. The RNG itself is tiring, like whoever the fuck thought its a good idea to make invincible mobs in expeditions? Little things just make it a chore. There is also a major understanding needed for itemization if you want to really enjoy the slow elements. Otherwise, it just becomes, another game to pick up and drop. |

The slower pace ends from around the middle of Act 2. From there on it's pack after pack of zerging mobs, incessant floor effects and tracking exploding projectiles, sometimes mixed with damaging auras or debuff auras from mobs that force you to play fast and kill fast.
Unless you're talking about the crawling movement speed. Yeah that you'll have to live with for quite a while. Last edited by kumogakure#7381 on May 13, 2025, 3:06:58 AM

Then you will love “Temporal Chain” in the endgame map mod

" There’s no “war” between fast and slow gameplay. The people defending the slow, clunky pacing have simply never reached endgame — they just don’t realize that this game is, by design, fast. Just run a Delirium or Breach encounter. Try any Tier 18 Delirium map with attack speed mods — the game turns into pure chaos in seconds. PoE 2 literally copy-pasted core mechanics from PoE 1 without any real adjustments. It’s still a game built around speed clearing, when huge crowds running at you. So people like me are simply trying to speak the uncomfortable truth to those who don’t see it yet — this isn’t a slow tactical RPG. It never was. And pretending otherwise is pure denial. " GGG told us many times (we didn't believe them) that in the endgame, POE 2 is VERY SIMILAR to POE 1 -- seemingly nobody listened to them or paid attention. This isn't a slow game at all, it was not designed or meant to be a slow game outside of the campaign, and even then, it's only slow during the first 3 acts.
