Stun is far too punishing with very little options to mitigate.
I was fighting the doryani citadel boss, the only damge mod was a 43% increase damage mod.
He put down his solar fire ball skills on top of me and I was immediately chain stunned to death. I have 3200 k life, my Mana of 1K acts as a buffer. I have 50% increased stun threshold. I am not aware of any other way to mitigate the mini stuns. I was keeping my distance, and when doryani used the fire balls he threw them on me, there was no delay on that ability he used, so there wasn't a time to respond, because I was immediatly stun locked from moving or using blink. I am at a loss for how I can mitigate stuns. Every map that has a damage mod I can't run cause I am constantly getting stunned and locked up. This isn't just boss skills it's monsters in white packs even. I can't even use the stun charm cause it only works for heavy stuns not mini stuns. So what on earth is there to mitigate mini stuns? stun threshold isn't helping. Not sure if block even works on spell skills Last bumped on May 23, 2025, 12:06:10 AM

You could use Unwavering Stance - I think there is a helmet that allocates it too - it reliably prevents getting stunned.

" ALthough it stops you from getting stunned it removes dodge mechanincs including blink. This is worse in any case where you would get stun locked you instead are more likely to be surrounded by mobs. being surrounded happens far more frequently and is more detrimental. |

Tried to play a map with more moster damage and lighting as estra damage.
Those mods have you being very frequently stunned. I fought the map boss with tentecle arms and he has this lasers from walls covering most of the arena fire out, and again got stun locked to death. could use blink since I'm locked in place to repeatedly be hit. GGG really needs to make this game about being able to stop from being stunned otherwise they only promote glass cannon playing here. kill or be killed game play. which is was never addressed in poe 1. |

There was 1 damage mod on the map, critical strike chance. With 60% critical damage.
rest of mods were ailment threshhold, stun threshhold, and shocked ground. the citadel boss Doryani in 1st phase. I was hit by the scattered crystals that blow up. The attack is not at all well telvised, no cue, just these crystals that show up and then blow up immediately when you are on top of them. Stun locked in place with rapid hits from that attack. because it's a mini stuns there is no mitigation. I lost all the progress trying to find the citadel, lost the loot for it. and lost xp. The charm works as intended, use a charm
the charm prevents stun a heavy stun is the ass on the ground effect when you get hit too much raising a shield or riding a bird there is no mini stun in the game, i think you mean stun, which can be prevented by a charm |

Being surrounded and perma stunned by small hits is infuriating and has ruined a few maps for me at this point. I have stun res and even tried with the charm. It makes no difference.
How do you expect us to do combos GGG? When even one skills animation is long enough for mobs to stun and obliterate me? |

" If you're constantly getting light stunned you don't have any max health modifiers and/or stun threshold at all. Also you only get light stunned when hit, so how are you getting hit so often is a refusal to apply mechanics and utilize the support gem+passive systems to better fit your long attack/cast time playstyle. There would be mass histeria from reddit+youtube if light stuns were throwing off most players. Just use the tools. |

" I do have stun threshhold, it's not doing much of anything. And I have additional max health where I can find it. I'm an evasion based character and getting hit is inevitable when things like ritual force you into cramped quarters with a sea of mobs that can spawn all around you, surround you in a second and smack you constantly. I'm using the tools the game has shown me thus far, I'm not able to find any meaningful gear upgrade for quite some time now so I can't even hope to kill the mobs faster to avoid eating the hits. So again, their combo based gameplay will never work when trash mobs can cancel your skills. Because the mob density is so high when you try to engage in combat that lasts more than an instant you just suffer for it. It's horrible, I really like the idea of parry into combo but it's not worth doing at all. They need to fix it. Spamming a single skill is so boring but it's feeling like the best way to play atm is just buffing a single skill (LS) rather than bothering to use multiple unique skills in combos. It sucks. I hope 0.3 makes some progress towards fixing this. |

GGG didn't design stun wrong, they had a stun system already,in 0.2 patch they specifically added in a new stun mechanic and call it heavy stun and allow any type of monsters potentially heavy stun you rather than leaving it to be a boss only thing, it is not a mistake, it is not poorly balanced, it is intended, the only logical reason for adding a stun when there is one already, is because the old stun does not interrupt your actions, and if you have a problem with it, it's your "skill issue", and "if you don't like it, stop playing", "this game is not for you".
GGG don't listen to player complaints and suggestions, not anymore, Jonathan thinks all players are dumb not knowing what's good and need to be taught a lesson, but they do listen to the fact they have player count rapidly dropping since they have a mother company to answer to, otherwise they will not panic release several "buff" patches recently, so be real if you want to play this game with satisfaction, what you need to do is not playing it for the moment.
