Gems lost when speccing out of Heat of the Forge

I respec’ed some ascendancy points out of Heat of the Forge (Smith of Kitava), and applied those points elsewhere. When I did, I lost access to the “Fire Spell on Melee Hit” skill (expected), but any gems I had attached to that skill seem to have completely vanished.

I can confirm that. Same thing happens with Living Weapon and Against the Anvil: If you spec out of them, you miss any support gems you had on those skills. Until it is fixed, Smith of Kitava players should always remember to remove our support gems before speccing out of ascendancy skills. Not sure if this applies to other ascendancies.
