One shot mechanics are not fun in a game like this.
I quite enjoy the game despite its myriad of faults, but there is some complete nonsense present.
The later you progress on cruel difficulty (yeah I'm still doing the campaign) the more abundant one-shot mechanics come. Sometimes, like in the godawful Queen of Filth boss fight, there's so much visual diarrhea happening all over the screen it's difficult to see the one-shot attack wind-up thus leading to instadeath. I feel one-shot mechanics are kinda cheap and antifun in most games anyway. I know they're aiming for an "ARPG Soulslike vibe", but you're only getting one-shot in a Soulslike if you're woefully underlevelled. Please tone it down a bit GGG - your game should be fun to play.
