Unplayable because of big lag spikes
Hi, I imagine there are several posts similar to this one, but I wanted to share my experience in case it helps developers.
I live in Honduras, Central America, south of Mexico. I usually get higher pings in online games than those shown by players in the United States. I almost always play between 80-150 ping, and that's normal for me. I have a normal experience playing online in all games, even in PoE1. But in PoE2, I get tremendous lag spikes of up to 5 seconds sometimes, which make the game unplayable. It's not my PC or internet connection because, as I mentioned, I have a normal experience in other games, even in PoE1 which I assume uses server technology similar to PoE2. I hope this helps. Best regards. Last bumped on Jun 12, 2025, 7:38:13 AM

Dude I'm in central Illinois smack dab in the middle of the US and the lag is terrible monsters teleport around.
It's not just you. It's a real problem and they need to do something about it. Last edited by MasterKnives#1552 on May 7, 2025, 9:50:45 PM

Update:
I tried with another ISP and the problem is gone, I don't know what happened between the old ISP and PoE2 servers, but it didn't work. Last edited by baldbolt#0038 on Jun 11, 2025, 11:37:55 PM

I live in The Netherlands, 1gb internet speed and i also have MAJOR lag spikes.
I think this has to do with a memory leak as well as poor servers, because I have to keep using the /clear command every 10 minutes to make the game playable. so it's not just you, it's everyone. |
