Selling items for gold

Is there a possibility of getting a NPC, maybe the currency exchange guy, to let us sell items for GOLD instead of orbs and such. I find myself wanting gold more than anything else eventually (mainly to help with Kingsmarch costs) We have this in POE 2 , why not here in POE 1.

Sure, if Kingsmarch goes core, they might change some things. But to think GGG will issue changes or updates to a 9+ months long league mechanic? Sorry.

Depends on if gold has more implementations in the future. For years it was a core philosophy for PoE to never have gold currency - only bartering items with "intrinsic value". Since GGG wanted to experiment with gold for PoE2 it's crept into PoE1 and is here to stay for the foreseeable future due to its popularity.

Chris has left, so gold will definitely get attention. Maybe in 3.26 we can sell vendor trash for gold.

i hope so, most trash i throw into the disenchant in Kingsmarch but always have more than it can hold... so a way to sell instead would be a good way to get gold. im a loot hoarder at heart, just how i am.

I'm pretty confident they don't have enough development time to implement Settlers into the base game. The currency exchange will certainly be ported over and with that gold drops stay, but that's about it I think. They might keep the gold gambling aswell, to have a gold sink other than currency exchange.

Well, they DID put Settlers in the base game, so id say they could make a vendor to sell items to for gold. Gold is quickly becoming a main part of the game, too many things to spend it on and so i run out of gold very quickly and end up with too many trash currency i dont use. So please make a vendor to sell items to. Early in maps it is difficult to get gold so this could help with that. POE 2 has this and works very well, never really have a problem with gold there.
Watch out, there's a risk of dumbing down the game by flattening everything to a single currency...
(and then Trade leagues negatively impacted by botters and real money trading ?)

But I guess we'll indeed see with how PoE2 develops : which removed all currencies except gold. (They're just orbs there.)
Honestly there is bots and RMT now (the latter has been around for a loooong time)any game that has items that are not bound your gonna have RMT, besides gold isnt tradeble making gold bots a non issue.

imho, the more ways ggg implements to get gold, the more currency trading bots become an issue.

eventually, it depends how many trades a bot could do after selling a quad tab of low level maps, in poe2 they're worth alot of gold
