Matrix Mode: Dodge Everything? 🌀🕶️
Hey fellas, I’ve got a question:
Let’s say your character has: 75% evasion 25% block Does that mean you're basically immune to all hits? Like, 100% unhittable? Back in the good old TBC days of WoW, I remember stacking dodge/parry/block up to 109/112% avoidance (before DR), making bosses physically unable to hit me at all. Is that kind of mechanic still a thing in poe 2? How does it work under the hood now? Do these chances roll independently, sequentially, or what? Would love to hear from someone who’s dug into the numbers. Last edited by arkanie#2558 on May 7, 2025, 9:03:01 AM Last bumped on May 11, 2025, 6:43:48 PM

No
Not sure which calculation is first but for every hit, you have a 1 in 4 chance of blocking it and then a separate 3 in 4 chance of evading it if it wasn't blocked (or the other way around but outcome is the same) Last edited by Strangehill#1736 on May 7, 2025, 10:47:15 AM

so its like we roll a dice for evey each mechanic seperatly?
like 3/4 chance to evade, if miss, second calcualiton if we can block with 1/4 chance? so praticly, trying to have %25 block chance is kinda doesnt serve as i wish (unhitable). |

They dont add up.
You have 75% chance to evade an attack. (-enemy accuracy) If you do get hit, there's a 25% chance to block the attack. Need to refresh my probability calculator but if I recall in that case the chance of avoiding physical damage will be: 82% |

thanks for answers fellas

YW.
The other thing is block and evasion is only against physical STRIKE and projectiles. So you still get slam attack damage because that's an AOE. Unless you get a skill that changes mechanics like turtle charm and acrobatic. Otherwise there's still 4 type of elemental damage that can torture you... |

so .. evasion % is just your chance to evade the average monsters attack.. im not sure if magic/rare mobs have higher accuracy or not but maybe?
as far as what goes first.. evasion gets calced, then block.. so you'd evade 75% of hits, then block 25% of the ones that got past ya.. something to keep in mind is evasion has entropy? w/e its called.. basically your evasion gets reduced every time you evade and eventually something will hit you.. so having block and evasion together is pretty massive |

" In poe2, you can evade/block any proyectile or strike. Doesn't matter if they are spells, attacks or elemental. Armour protects from any physical damage. Evasion/block protects from any strike or projectile (not against AoE). |
