Chaos inoculation + Mind Over Matter

Good afternoon, everyone.
I need help with a question. I'm playing with a Stormweaver with Chaos Inoc + Mind over Matter and I always get killed by some random things, especially the monster that drains mana. I die instantly near it. Shouldn't I run out of mana and start taking damage to the energy shield instead of dying with the energy shield full? Is this a bug or is it a wrong description of Mind over Matter? Or should I just die and the description of Mind should be Mana replaces life or something similar. Mana protect ur health, not es. Damage comes es-mana-health. It is useless to use ci+mom without eldritch battery, but it is nerfed(I mean deleted), so...

Ty, i figure out. Its the heavy buffer. 5% damage bypass energy shield is killing me
