Chat window feedback (Xbox series X)

The change made to the chat window that was introduced in 0.2.0 which automatically pulls up the xbox keyboard UI interface is very intrusive.

I've had instances during a heated combat where I mispress the chat window hotkey and suddenly my screen is covered with a text window and I lose control of my character mid combat.

Or a guild mate links his cool new amulet and I'm forced to close the keyboard UI before I can even see the chat window. Or I just want to link an item myself but again my chat window forces the keyboard open again and I have to close it.
It never used to do that. You had to deliberately select the chat window and press a button to get the UI to appear.

I guess when just quickly chatting that could be useful but 9/10 times its just annoying or even dangerous. I've had to change my chat keybind to avoid hitting it during a fight when my thumb slips up on the D pad.

Please revert it back to how it was or just add an option to turn that feature off. Most of the time I open my chat log its not to immediately type something.

do yourself a favor and buy a cheap ($10 or less) keyboard to hook up to your xbox. you'll never need to use a keybind for chat or the on screen keyboard again. just hit enter to open the chat window and type directly in it (hitting enter does not automatically open the on screen keyboard like you've said you don't like). escape closes the window.

start whispers with @ and then type the player's name. if they're in the same area as you, you can start typing their name and an auto-fill box pops up so you can just hit tab and it inserts their full name and puts your cursor at the start of the whisper

you can type /leave to quickly leave a party. /hideout to transport to your hideout without going through a waypoint (from social spaces only)

hit tab in your stash or most other UI windows with a filter box to type your filter (this does pull up the on screen keyboard but you can type in it with a keyboard and close it to insert your text in game by pressing enter).

added bonus, you can hit F1 and it overlays the performance stat graphs that you see in the graphics settings menu

i bought my xbox keyboard years ago to use for chat in other games and i can't imagine playing this game without it.
