A better post 3.25 alternative

I can understand that GGG wants to focus on poe2 development. That being said the current private league format that is currently ongoing isnt all that good imho and is fracturing the player base quite a lot.

Why cant GGG instead pick the top 10 most played or liked leagues and run a poll for players to vote. The winning league of the poll is what we get to play for a month or 3 months or whatever then we can vote on a another league.

This can be rinsed and repeated. Im sure this would be better than whatever is going on right now

I agree 100%. It's so weird, they are very open that the game base hard on trade meanwhile they fragment playerbase.

It's a tradeoff.

Offer an experience for everyone and their taste (even though fragmented), or offer a good experience for the majority.

What I struggle to understand, is why Settlers has to be the default in events like these. A LOT(!) of players are sick and tired of Settlers. I know it's an easy mechanic to ignore, but there's SO(!) many options out there to make really cool, nostalgic events. Maybe it's a server limit/settings thing, which would be semi-understandable.

Settlers is default because it was just the most recent league for almost a year now, and may be going core who knows.

If they were going to use polls and all this they would've been done they already.
