WHY are chests despawning during expeditions???

Im playing poe2 minding my busisness doing maps. I clear a expedition and i notice as i kill the last mob the chest disappears. Why is this happening? this is extremely annoying. Im missing out on loot and it makes me not want to use my log books if im going to have to deal with despawning chests.

did you take the Expedition Atlas passive that causes chests to despawn after 5 seconds?
