"Exception: Out-of-range adapter index" since May 1st update

I have been playing PoE1 happily through Steam on Linux for months. As of yesterday's (1st May) update, the game won't start at all, I get a large black window half way between my two monitors, and a small window which says:
"Exception: Out-of-range adapter index" The game was configured to run full-screen on my larger (primary) display. As I can't even get to the login screen, I can't easily change that to experiment. Last bumped on May 17, 2025, 6:56:44 PM

Oh, just to add, there were no operating system updates between working and non-working. It's purely what changed in the game in the May 1st update.

Have you discovered a fix for this? I have the same problem, tried multiple things from launch commands,integrated GPU disabled, integrity check and reinstall and nothing worked.
Also bump. |

I managed to make the game work by forcing Proton 10.0-1 beta in launch options. |
