Streamers who are in hideout 24/7

Has this been a topic before?

I'm quite skeptical with these "crafter-gamblers' whose main content is gambling all day and I've never seen them outside their hideout.

It just seems fishy on how they get their currency to get the capital to gamble. And I'd like to dissuade this term "Good crafter" or "God-crafter" Jesus Christ, it takes no skill, its all luck, even then you are most likely to be at a lost with your "gambling". So how the hell can they "gamble" 24/7 and still have abnoxious amount of currency with no mapping whatsoever?

Probably trade flipping, it's entirely possible to amass wealth without stepping foot in a map beyond some seed currency

Or they've got someone feeding them
Still doesn't seem to add up. Granted they are trade flipping, it will still take days to make a profit and more often than not it will be at a lost.

Someone feeding them does seem to quite add up but how does the other guy benefit?

I think the most viable explanation for me would be RMT.

Trade groups are a thing in poe1, I presume they've transferred to poe2 as well

You pool all resources to a crafter, the items that crafter makes are passed on to a trader, and the profits from the trader are divided between the farmers, crafter, and trader. If you have a streamer at the top whether crafter or farmer they can look like they magic gear out of nothing

RMT may be a thing but it's not cut and dried and would probably not be that popular of a streamer if they have to resort to the no-friends method
Is it really that unbelievable that they are buying mats outside of the game? People have been doing this for decades in ARPG's. It's practically a necessity to be able to gamble on that level.

Or as the people suggested below, people might be feeding them as well. Streamer culture and followers... it's kinda crazy what followers will gift to streamers and how much they will spend to be mentioned on the air. It also wouldnt shock me if the followers are making RMT's and passing them along to Streamers who are either unknowingly accepting or turning a blind eye to the transactions

But isn't that the problem? Isn't RMT strictly prohibited? why are we letting these guys go on with their content. Stuff like it ruins the purpose of the game.

I mean a certain person who recently became a gaming meme has a very obviously RMT account with crazy RMT items he showed on stream that got turned into more memes by krip, quin and moist critical.

If this guy is doing it and getting away with it blatantly on stream, dunno what to tell ya.

I mean you can literally watch the stream and see how the person makes currency by trading and crafting. There is nothing secret to it.

Out of curiosity, I listened to a trader stream while I worked for a bit today. The guy was clearly making a profit by buying items, doing some crafting on them, and then selling them. The main skill appears to be the ability to spot undervalued items that could be improved with crafting. And knowing what will sell for a lot.

They were using fracture, whittle, vaal, chaos, annual, omen, etc. They were using pretty much all the high-end currencies. It was kind of crazy to watch someone burn more currency crafting in a matter of minutes than I have found all season. They trade almost exclusively in divine but ironically, I did not see them use a single divine.

Apparently as a challenge, they went from 1 exalt to a mirror in under four days of trade/crafting.
Yeah 1 exalt to a mirror with no mapping whatsoever, that adds up

If that's true, then I'm happy for their prodigal ability to dicker on interweb currency. I think for most people, it sends the wrong message, which is that this is even remotely possible for the vast vast majority of the people who play. Most of us have stuff like jobs. or kids. and those who dont definitely don't have the streamer revenue to back them up. But, I reckon it gets the clicks, eh?
