Merged Accounts and lost my progress on Xbox

Hello,

I am literally desperate at this point, worked so hard to get to end game and am hours on end game already, today I downloaded the game on PC because I wanted to try, and during login didn't give me option as I do on xbox to log in using Xbox/Microsoft login, so I had to merge with my email. i realized I couldn't play on PC which is fine, but I went to play on my XBOX and my game there started over, asking me to select a new char. I did not know this would happen, I remember the name of my main character but not the others I created to try out, is this lost forever? i just cant start over again, too much money and time invested in this account by now. Thank you so much!

For those that may experience what i did, the player here is correct and the game doesn't necessarily show how to do this. i was able to click the "R" on Xbox and I saw the drop down where I could change and find the account again.
