chat lagging the game (seriously)
So many players try to find the reason for lag and meanwhile when someone writes something in the chat (that causes lag) the player then claims that it's scorched earth or fog or some other flawed explanation for the reason for lag.
In my opinion what I have a problem with at least is when some player writes something in the global chat the game gets a spike. Turning off the chat and relog works to minimize lag but when the chat is turned off the game still records players' posts in the chat so it can also create conditions for the game to suddenly spike. To players: I am sure that in 90% of cases the chat bug is to blame when a spike occurs (I am sure of this because I saw with my own eyes how after a post from one of the players I got a spike at the same time (and I am not crazy) another player wrote and another spike until it looked like this every time a player wrote..then a spike. this is what it looked like (relog helps and turning off the chat minimizes this bug) Last bumped on Jun 4, 2025, 5:20:52 PM

It's true, deleting logfile also helps for a while, you can also swap to a random other global channel with no ppl around.
Couldn't believe it first but every single Global Chat message can cause a mini-lag Turning off the chat doesn't really help, you still get spikes when someone sends a message while you're in that channel. Last edited by Rikku#7536 on Apr 28, 2025, 8:55:36 PM

I just hope that in some time they will fix it and write a patch.

It's been a while and this issue is still persistent, me and my friend both have this issue. Even after disabling all chats it still doesn't help because it seems even if you toggle off the global chat it still for some reason keeps on loading messages even while toggled off? i don't know why that's done this way but after some time messages accumulate and causes lags again. I would hope that the developers take this issue seriously and fix it ASAP before the 0.2.1 patch comes out.
