Chaos DOT Lich: Barrier Invocation Bug?

I'm using barrier invocation and the trigger spell isn't working. I have enough spirit and tried socketing multiple skills like comet, lighting conduit, etc; and none of them are working. I'm playing chaos dot lich ES build and I see the barrier invocation energy % build to 100% quickly as I take hits. I tried running the barrier invocation with just the socketed skill and no support gems to make sure there's no support gem bricking the trigger and that didn't work as well. Yes, I right clicked barrier invocation and it's turned on (spinning orbs around the skill art icon and I even see the star that circles my 3d player model). Yes, I also have enough stat requirements for all my skills and support gems. 100+ dex requirement was a lot but was able to hit the stat requirement through socketing runes in my gear just to check if this skills works.

This seems like a bug so I'll post this both in the EA bug reports and also the builds thread.

GGG or anyone more knowledgeable than I am, can you please help me understand why this is happening?

P.S cast on freeze with chaotic freeze support gem also doesn't seem to work. I'm able to freeze my targets through contagion with chaotic freeze support gem but the cast on freeze doesn't trigger and also doesn't build up energy. As a caster, I'm looking for a cast on X trigger to help me clear t5 content and and a bit frustrating that even if I'm able to satisfy the requirements the skill doesn't work as intended.

barrier invocation doesnt autocast, you have to activate it yourself. as for cast on freeze, chaotic freeze only contributes to freeze build up from supported non-aipment chaos dot damage. without additional investment youre not likely to be freezing or triggering very often at all (energy gains are very low in general). if youre having issues with t5 maps, focus on improving your gear, +4 chaos on wand, +2 all spells on focus, +3 all spells on amulet are all very important for scaling chaos dot damage.
