Technical performance problems
Hello everyone,
Having recently acquired a new computer (specifications below), I'm (un)pleasantly surprised to find that my game sometimes, not to say often, runs at less than 80 fps, even in empty areas (i.e. without monsters or particular animations). Configuration :

Ryzen 7 7800X3D
RTX 4070ti super 16GO 32GO RAM I wanted to make some video captures to send a ticket to support. To get a clean rendering, I first changed the game language to English. I then had to restart my game and to my great surprise, after restarting I was running at around 240fps and it looked constant, even in map mode. However, I'd like to point out that I quickly fell back below 100 fps after just a few minutes of play. So my question is this: Do you know if the game has any known cache problems? Do you manage to play at 144fps or more consistently (over game sessions lasting several hours)? If so, could you please tell me your video settings? Finally, I'd like to point out that I'm playing with all settings at the lowest level in 1920x1080 on a 240hz screen and I'm in Windows 24h2 (could this be where the problem is coming from? I understand that this version had quite an impact on the early days of EA, when I was still on Windows 10). Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. Last bumped on Apr 28, 2025, 9:05:14 AM

" through messing around i found vulkan to generally have higher framerates, but more frequent and longer lasting stutters. dx12 seems to run like crap in towns however out mapping fewer stutters. my setup is pretty close you yours. you can try deleting the games shader cache. but keep in mind generally the game will run worse for awhile before it will start to be better when you do so. |

Thanks for your reply.
After some research I found that I was CPU bottlenecked (GPU was at 3-5 MS and CPU at > 30-35ms). I had to use this video to improve performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8nYoFA38Fc (I stopped at “Best AMD Settings”). So far the FPS problems seem to be fixed, but I can't help imagining that they'll drop drastically again after a few hours' play. I'll update this post to say whether or not the FPS relapses. |

The video is pretty useful, this should help those with low fps.

Well, after a session lasting about an hour, it seems that the fps in the “quiet” areas are fairly stable.
However, as soon as there's delirium and/or breach, fps sometimes drop below 40. In more “classic” combat zones, I'm hovering around 80-100 fps. I'm a bit desperate about the game's performance in general. A “high end” PC (kinda) can't even run the game at 80 fps constantly. It's pretty appalling from my point of view. |
