Vengeful Fury - waste of point in its current form?

Vengeful Fury
Rage now also gives you 1% armour for each point...

This skill needs rework, because
- for 4 points invested
- using Berzerker Spirit spirit gem that increases Rage effects by 45% (55% if gem is upgraded)

and the result is barely 300 extra armour with a fully stacked rage only givesa single % point in the stat screen as physical damage reduction.
I know it scales with items, but ItemLvl would I need to see some result?
And lets face it, unlikely anyone would use Distilled Essences to learn this...

Plus the 3 points that gets you there is Rage when you get hit is even questionable, because if you have some type of rage generating method, this wont really help you much, but I might miss something here...



I just retalented and for the same 4 point that I invested in Brute Strength.
That overall gives you +36 STR that will be at least 72Max hp
While Brute STR itself gives us at least 20% GLOBAL damage.


Yet when devs look at the data they say
"everyone prefers to play glasscannons so we cater to them"

No, its just when players try to build defensive, the results are straight punishing.


When it comes to solutions I lack of ideas because lets say
a) A simple solution would be to keep the talent as it is to change the formula to increase armour (sorry for the lack of terminology, I had to describe it) completely, not just the base value.

Because without the talent I have 6.5k armour.
With the talent + berzerk I got an extra 350.
1% from each rage + berzerk increases rage effect by 45%

Without scavenged plate my off combat armour is 4180
With scavenged plate it goes up to 6.5k

As if the current number thinks my base armour value is only 804 (that's how I can get extra 350 with full rage)

It should check the accumulated armour, aka around 2.8k extra armour should it give.
Questionable how out of balanced would that be, because armour itself is such a lackluster defensive stat that people late endgame drops every armour and start stacking ES or evasion instead.

b) Should it reduce physical damage by... 0.5% for each rage?
Technically it would be 15% reduced damage. I guess there's the rage build, where you can squeeze another 9-10% out?
(you can get an extra 20 maximum rage)

Maintaining this amount of rage can be some effort and at least 20 point investment which are pretty far from each other on the tree...

c) I would say the rage could increase your maximum resistance and defense stats
but there is the max res cluster just above it
and increasing your block chance cap wouldn't really help no-shield builds.

So as a warbringer I tested to use Jade ascendancy.
Yeah... that's 2 ascendency point not "normal skippoints" but that 1 point gives you 10% physical reduction and still die pretty often. Or at least don't feel like I could pick up more enemies or walk in more confidentally.

So Vengeful Fury with my current gear gives only 1% extra physical resistance (I know armour mitigation is odd and whatever is on the screen is not real) but I'm sure that 300-350 armour do less than the Jade
