I don't like Tripod, tbh. He seems phony to me.

Is it his positivity in a sea of negativity on the internet? That usually does it for people.

No I think it's the Mark Zuckerberg effect where he fails to give the impression that he really is a human being.

It's probably: the nerfs were unjustified.

0.2.0 is trash.

The game isn't fun.

There's not enough loot.

GGG is incapable.

The vision sucks.

Did I forget something?

Well good thing its not for you. It's for the devs. There's actually quite a bit of positivity these guys have for the game, they just want it be fun.
I've put the video on 2nd screen while playing to listen, and i actually disagree with a lot of things said.

So let's try to resume the first hour :

1- Campain was too hard
Was it tho ?
I didnt have any problem clearing the campain as minion build, and minion build was supposed to be "trash tier" at the start of 0.2.
But according to who? Just because somehow Kripparian struggled to a white mob with his build doesnt mean minions were bad.
It's just that people refused to adapt their gameplay and builds between 0.1 and 0.2 (i could even say, from poe 1 to 0.2 for some cases).

2- Lightning spear
So why "everybody" plays lightning spear (i dont)?
Apparently it's supposed to be OP, but is it?
Or is it because of the damage of the skill, or because it bounces everywhere, and SHOCK?
Yeah, the real balance problem isnt lightning spear itself, it's Shock.

3- "Playing the class wrong"
I'm actually on the side of GGG here.
Yes, if i create a class with a specific design, and a skill cap around it that would reward you a lot, and i see you complain about the class but you're not even trying what the class was made for, then it's your fault.
Again, this is not PoE 1, and there are a lot of video games that has this type of design, and nobody complain about it, except here apparently.

To be fair, even in PoE 1, it's kind of the case. Did you ever made :
- an Elementalist, but play physical or chaos damage?
- a saboter, to not play traps/mines?
- an archer, and make a build around Endurance charges for some reasons?
No, you didn't, that's because all classes has a pre-oriented style and gameplay, it's just that in PoE 2, it's gonna be More oriented.
So you may want to really think about which class you go for, like in any mmmorpg for exemple.
You dont pick a tank and complain about dealing less dmg than a dps and have people expecting you to taunt mobs and cc.

4- Leveling system/progress during campain
- "leveling experience completly depend on your rng"
Have you ever played Dark souls 1? You can, almost at the begining of the game, kill some uniques monsters "Black Knight", and they have something like 10% chance to drop their weapons.
If you get one of those, the game is over, because you just dropped an OP weapon from the begining, and you'll roll stomp the game.
If you dont, game is going to be way harder, as expected.

- "people who dont have to waste time checking the vendors and all may have miserable experience"
Yeah ? Well i guess people refusing to play the game will indeed.
But guess what, i'm pretty sure people refusing to use Support gems in PoE 1 will have miserable experience too.
Or if you restart the game everytime you die/get hit in a Soul's game, yeah it's gonna be harder.
But that's your choice, trying to play your own rules.

5- Skills locked to weapons
I dont think that's a problem at all. I didnt like the way it was in PoE 1, able to use any skill with any weapons.

It's actually also easier to balance things with it's locked like that for the futur.
And i would add, Blood mage using crossbows & spears to play bleed shouldnt be possible, it's a F-king Mage, the ascendenty point should be restricted to Spells.

6- Dreamcore
If a Mace skill become super strong, but you dislike maces, you will still play that skill mace because "it's the strongest skill atm" ?
That's a crazy way of thinking/playing to a video game.
Just play what you like, what feels good, otherwise, why even playing video game to begin with ?
Idk, this mentality is litteraly the opposite of the definition of "gaming" to me.

It's already too many things just in 1 hour and i dont think there is much more interesting details later because of the titles of the parts.

The amount of ppl who struggled this patch progressing the campaign is nothing you can wave of with "I did not".
The imbalance in loot and between different builds is way to complex for that.

"Lightning Spear" has balance issues, and "Shock" has its problems too.
Both can be true at the same time.

Have you tested "Parry" and how it performs throughout the game?

What? Have you ever played PoE1? This is so wrong, it's wild.
1. Elementalist
- Divine Ire
- Snipe
- Blade Vortex
and so on

2. Saboteur
- Lightning Strike
- Exsanguinate
- Bladefall/Bladeblast
and so on

3. Archer?
- Replica Farrul's Fur
or any other build that utilizes "Endurance Charges", and that's many.
You know, "Endurance Charges" are actually good in PoE1:
"Players gain additional Physical and Elemental Damage Reduction for each Endurance Charge they have"
Like... having these charges on a build for "Physical Damage Reduction" alone is huge...

How is "leaving every single time you get a level up to check the vendor" - "playing the game"?
I mean, it technically is, but you just stop the gameplay flow to leave an area to check the vendor, to go back into that area to level up again, to check the vendor to re-enter the area and so on...

Furthermore, PoE2 is not a "Souls-like" game. They only showcased mechanics like "Dodgeroll" and some boss mechanics and referred to "Souls-Like", the game is not in the "Souls-Like" genre, period.

Sure, you didn't like it, but this type of "build diversity" made PoE what it is today.
A game so successful that it financed itself AND PoE2.
If you don't like "off-meta" or "weird tech" builds... play a "normal" build.

1. Disagree with them. The campaign easy, but it was too long and boring. They're going to add 3 more acts on top of that. Ehhhhh.

2. New skill being overtuned is typical.

3. "Playing the class wrong" is definitely the wrong game design for a POE successor. POE was all about experimenting. Not sure what the devs were thinking here. Agree.

4. Leveling was fine but loot does suck. Checking the vendor should be something you do to see if you get a lucky roll. But if I'm going to the vendor to fill out all my slots there's a big problem with loot.

5. That's another issue caused by calling this game "POE 2". A lot of skills in POE aren't weapon dependent which allowed for player experimentation. That doesn't exist in this game. Agree.

6. dafuq?
