Fixing the "depth" gameplay issue.
When I saw this game I fell in love with it, the only thing that I could not fall in love with is the 1 button press to delete everything on screen. Or now as a huntress 1 press 2 press clear over and over again and with bosses its 2 buttons the same way over and over. Combat should feel rewarding and as deep as EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE GAME. Now this is leaking into poe 2 it makes the game worse from what it could be it is the main issue that isnt addressed in the game I DO NOT SEE ANY CONTENT CREATORS OR REDDIT POSTS ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. Also content, difficulty, and loot is a problem but i feel like this will be fixed as temporary issues. I feel this depth is everywhere in the game but the combat. Adding alot of loot would drastically help. IF this was addressed POE would not be complained about at all its solves THE BIGGEST ISSUE IN POE. Instead of just STATS it becomes GAMEPLAY that gets you through the game. please give PLAYERS more MOVES and things to do in the game besides 1 button or the same 4 buttons in a row. This is what i came up with to fix. GEM SKILL TREES 1. What I would come up with is all skills have skill trees which unlock the ability to do more with your set skill. Parrying is fun but why cant I parry and do a slap back? Why cant i do a shield toss? Why cant i do double shields? Why cant i do a shield spin like cyclone. And this is just "shields" This could be added to all gems in the game and you wouldn't need to add as many skill gems or supports if the skill gems are fleshed out in this way. AUGMENTATION OF GEMS 2. MY ONE THING that i disliked the most in the game is how static gems were in the POE 1. It was just a gem that could level up and get stronger. You shouldnt even need to do this in the first place just choose a skill and level it up. I always thought oh man wouldnt it be nice if there was a chance a dropped gems have slight variations between them so you always will use a skill differently and you could find better versions OR MAKE A BUILD AROUND THEM. IDEA: Fireball- I do not know what i would name these but. Fireball- but instead of it being shot in front of you it homes on enemies. Or fireball- it turns into a shield like thing and surrounds you in a circle just like rf. fireball- Instead of lighting things on fire it instead freezes WITHOUT using ICE. Fireball- now can bounce off the walls. Fireball- When you shoot fireball it goes in random directions. You could augment these skill gems and it would change builds dramatically and how people could play. PLAYER CHOICE OVER INPUT MECHANICS. 3. I think it would be nice if you could let players choose aditional input mechanics to the game like for example. I really like the ability on the hammer and sniper shot of ranger why cant i have a augmentation that adds that to any skill in the game so if i hold down ANY skill it does that animation and alot more damage. Another could be a triple combo from an attack. Or one that focuses on the speed which is kinda like path of exile one. Or one that you get a combo from fire and ice or ice and lightning or using two different combo abilities together. I REALLY wanted to play HUNTRESS like I would stab juke a quick attack from an enemy and instantaneously dodge and attack so my whole build would be just POKING. I only have 1 POKE ability in the whole game pretty much and it gets really boring do the same attack over and over again. So now I am stuck throwing lightning and explosion as i run through enemies. I hope ggg reads this and addresses this issue that I think is holding back GGG and ARPGS as a whole and when it becomes solved this will be one of the greatest games of all time. Players should be fighting more like bosses rather than the current way it is.
