make idols core Somehow
as we all know , usually on second month of each league player count gets lower and lower , which affect the market heavily
but with idols even a 3 friends can sustain them selves from all aspects ,maps scarabs raw currency etc idols can be modified or get less powerful , but for me atleast idols are a missing piece from poe [you can literally drop 200 t16 in one t17 maps ] and many hundreds of scarabs each map Also[optional] add pherica asendancies [ more ascendancies more builds more time spent and more fun in the game . thats my humble opinion Last bumped on Apr 22, 2025, 2:22:37 PM

Unfortunately though, as much as you (or I) might like the crazy juice....its bad for the game.
The ability to farm so much currency and items on your own only increases the costs of everything. It makes those who participate at lower levels of time or juice even MORE squeezed on a regular basis. I believe idols will be gone permanently from the game outside of private leagues, because the Atlas passives are already more "balanced". The most fun things are always the most OP things (think crucible), but ultimately they damage the health of the game long-term. It's like playing with cheats. As for Phrecia ascendancies...some are just too goddamn powerful. GGG is not going to add all of them in and give them the massive headache of balancing 40 ascendancies every time they make any change. We were already told ahead of time going into this event that these ascendancies and idol system were "failed" ideas. For SSF the idols were great, but most people play trade and GGG tends to balance the game around trade.
I'm not sure if the idols are a one-time thing. If they are available in the private league templates coming on the 23rd then I guess maybe GGG could use them again in the future. I do agree on the self-farming comment, just endless anything: 140k harvest juice per day, 1 million azurite per day, takes a bit of time to farm a quad tab of fully revealed blueprints but this phrecia event was #1 for Heist, and so on. I mainly play ssf and had a great time but there would be a serious adjustment to the idol system if it is to stay in the game. Last edited by kdubbarizzle#7578 on Apr 21, 2025, 2:39:42 PM

" Just have to say you really nailed it here |

" Not "tends to".....it IS balanced around trade. SSF is a challenge mode with a self-inflicted punishment. Yes, idols were great for SSF. But anything that is "great for ssf" is antithetical to the entire game design. Like it or not, that's the truth. A damn shame, imo. Its all good, no worries.
But yeah idols will need to be realigned, depends on what GGG wants to do and if they believe there is a place for them. |

" Yep, the sad truth of it. Would be nice if GGG changed the game to make SSF less punishing. I could see it making use of the idols, that and also more smart loot and pre-nerf Harvest crafting. But as it stands, GGG is content to keep it as a masochistic challenge mode. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. |
