No real class definiining skill

Today, I saw a Bloodmage build that put the last nail in the coffin, Bloodmage/Huntress, basically in the logic of GGG, if you try to play as your class, you will be punished. Grab the new weapon and the skills of the new class... yayyy 😒. Lich for me didn't bring anything substantial, no class-defining skill, only buffs for damage or tankiness.

This season, the rule is, "Use another class, take the spear and the skills of a huntress, and clear maps like there was no tomorrow." But God forbid you play as your class and weapon, or you´ll be punished for the damage you can do.

If you try to play minions on witch you'll be punished, if you try to play with void skills you´ll be punished, and don't get me started about bone skills ¬¬ those are awefull, and yes you can make them work but in the infinite loop we are now its time consuming, low currency drop and high prices on the market you end up confronted to an unintentioned pay wall, were only the meta class and weapon can surpass.

Dark Effigy, ED/Contagion is very strong btw if that's what you mean by void and extremely easy to self craft the items needed

You could have just said that Spear builds should get a nerf and I could agree (even though I didn't even touch that personally, but seeing the ladder...). Other than that, it is pure drama.

There will always be a META. And one class using a skill designed to another has been happening since Poe1 release. All of those mentioned "punished builds" are being played by people even on SSF. (Except ?Void? skill, don't know what you mean by that).

Strong in Campaign. Strong at clearing trash. Crap at bosses. Lightning spear will do all of those.
Void is a damage type in LE and it's purple like chaos.

Yes, one of the biggest strengths of the POE style of games is that there are no class specific skills or items.

It appears you are confused and think you are playing Last Epoch.
classes and other pre-defined character building mechanics are not fun in a game where you want to build your own character with your own build.

That's why i think ascendancies are a bad design for poe.
Also, changing starting area for witch/sorc feels bad design also.

Ideally characters can start in different positions of a tree, grinding from generic starting areas into specific ones.
Building around skill you chose, mechanics it's uses and modular keystones, not around classes or ascendancies.
