Ascendancy points bugged?

Finished a trial of Sekhemas (lvl 65) a while ago for my 5th and 6th ascendancy points.

While the ascendancy statue was clickable I wasn't able to interact further on the ascendancy screen or do anything else. I left the trial without any asc. points given and now newer trials of that level say that they won't be awarding any more ascendancy points on completion.

Any idea on what happened or what I should do?
