Why are you so afraid of players having fun?

Basically the title. Holiday weekend dad here so I had some free time.

Tried to avoid all the LE hype and just play the ARPG game from the company that produced my all time favorite game and it's actually been painful.

Invited my friend to a few unique maps on my atlas, oh nvm he doesn't get atlas points he has to be the owner to get them.
Have 75 all res but still getting one shot randomly.
Walk around the map following these wisps but they actually still just drop nothing/shit loot.
Can't find any upgrades for my character so I have to open a website outside of the game and just search trade to progress.

GGG wtf are you so afraid of happening in your game?????? You're literally afraid of people having fun? I don't get it.

there are tens of thousands of people actually having fun and logged in. Not having fun? Don't play the game
I've been playing POE since 2013. Telling me that if I don't like POE2, to fa_k off is stupid to say the least.

Nice seems like you have alot of friends. But its true tho LE has way more players rn and a couple days before (after their new league) :). Guess you are right, people will leave.

100% you have no social life/friends etc. Its sad, very sad, its the saddest I have felt for a basement dweller.

Game is in a very bad place right now. I'd come back in 0.3.0 if you're not having fun. Hopefully GGG listens to the community and bounces back. But so far not looking good
Game is a disaster atm.

POE2 dropped 83% of his playerbase in 4 months. I can't wait for GGG to actually proceed to you guys request (darksouls lovers pretending to own the game and feeling perfectly fine to tell a gamer dad to gtfo after reading an opinion they dislike).
This will speed things up and make the game crumble even more, with a 20k peak playerbase eventually. From this point, the game won't be sustainable on a business aspect and GGG will be forced to adress all the concerns coming from their core playerbase.
Till then you can also ask the devs to add additional metrics such as stamina, which makes you crawl through the map when the bar is empty, or hunger which progessively plague your character when he starves etc.
Help them with "the vision" please.

Don't you need to kill mobs touched by the wisp to empower it, in the hopes of getting better drops.

75 all res wont stop you from getting one shot, especially with certain map mods

POE 2 is nothing like a souls game. Souls games have the micro-progression figured out. For example, if you want to keep your souls (XP) you have to return to a bonfire and cash them in. The cost for doing this is running the same section of the map over again, but it's easier because you've committed stats to your character and can't lose them. In POE 2, it's possible to lose your progress faster than you can earn it. Horrible feeling.

Souls games are also heavily skill based. POE 2 does require some skill in the sense of learning the boss patterns, but once you know the patterns and the roll, roll, slap timing, you're still depending heavily on gear to churn out damage if you're not a caster. Souls games you can beat with minimal gear and levels once you have the mechanics figured out. The gear you need in a souls game can be target farmed and crafted. You can't do that in POE 2.

POE 2 may be trying to copy souls games to a degree. But if they are, they're totally missing the mark because they lack the controlled micro-progression players have in souls games for if/when they get stuck on a boss and need a bit of a stat or gear boost.

I love souls games. Can be frustrating as hell but also rewarding. Platinumed Demon's Souls on the PS3, did all the Steam achievements for Dark Souls. Gonna go back any replay the remake of Demon's Souls to see how they did.

I really don't want to pick up POE 2 right now. There's no feeling of progression or reward, thus no replay value. And that sucks because it's a good looking game. It also feels pretty good to play mechanically minus the getting shoved around the map in unrealistic ways sometimes. But the gearing and punishment feel bad. Really bad.

POE2 is doing better then poe1 ever did. The numbers are fine. The extreme drop off is from casuals trying the game and realizing it wasnt for them
