Adding a map to a tower with a map already slotted deletes the first map from existence

After adding a map to the map slot, I ctrl+clicked on another map to replace the first. The first map entirely disappeared and did not return to my inventory.

Edit: After clicking on another location, the previous maps were in the map slots. So, they just get moved
