Slam Enemies
I understand Slams from a game balance design, you're not able or supposed to easily dodge or block them without making some concessions in your build, that's fine
When bosses do it they're (usually) these telegraphed hard hitting moves with the sound queue and the red glow, that's fine So that's how they're balanced, not easy to outright avoid the hit but they're well telegraphed and you dodge them by avoiding the area So could we maybe, just maybe, not have the white enemies deal absolutely crushing damage while having none of the boss telegraph with heir slams? The coffin carriers have an off screen slam and god forbid it's a blue mob with increased area The monkeys mad rush you over and over and slam down Those standard bearers/pole axes enemies have the same silly expanding "wave slam" Slams are completely fine as the boss crushing hits that deal a lot of damage White mobs have no business spamming slams that still do a few thousand damage Last bumped on Apr 19, 2025, 1:00:08 PM

Completely relatable and the slam attacks are probably why i am quitting this league until they are fixed or until next league where i will roll a mage so Energy shield can avoid this.
I didn't notice how bad this was until playing with the huntress, evasion is extremely flawed as already you can't evade any spells, but you can't evade (nor parry) any of these slam attacks, they are mostly physical btw which means your reistances don't do sheit to them. I'd like to play an ARPG soulslike combo, unfortunately even with full resistances, 2k HP (which is high by this garbage arse's game's standards considering you gain almost none of it through leveling and no health nodes exist in talent tree AND the amount on armor is not that significant considering the sheer amount of dmg mobs in the game do) you get almost always 1 shot in T15+ maps and also this is without mods that buff monster damage, if they are buffed you are guaranteed one shot. I'm quite alright with a challenge, but man this one shot fest where you also lose 10% of your exp..it's just too much, bro there's no god damn way these devs play more than the campaign on normal, there's no way they did maps, got one shot by these waves of slam attacks and though this 0 iq logic was alright, and didn't buff evasion, or armor, or reduced their damage. Bro Jonathan and his crew of nerds can get the "vision" they want, and there's a reason why everyone get a 1second full screening build, because there is no middle ground, you either clear the mobs quick or they utterly demolish you, their speed was always fine, fix their damage for christs sake. " I agree with you I had the same build problems in the beginning and get your frustration. And yes some mobs are still way overtuned. But the way they started addressing problems for the campaign gives me hope that the rest will follow sooner or later. Evasion and armor need an overhaul to open more build diversity. You need to build ES to survive. Some of those offscreen slams are frustrating as hell. I even still die to coffin carriers who are in the middle of huge packs or off screen and slam you without you being able to see it coming. Even after being able to get the stats for wearing ES gear. There are a lot of very good posts addressing the defense issues and I hope GGG addresses them sooner or later but. People screaming about the vision are anoying as hell. The way they are fixing issues I didn't even notice myself for certain mobs shows they care and that this is clearly not "the vision". It just takes time to identify them and address them one by one. I played the campaign again without lvl gear after the changes and it starts to feel very good if you go the interactive route of reacting and adapting to situations. There is still a lot of BS. But they mentioned they are still continuing on improving those. |
