Feedback for design choices that make the game less fun
Long time POE fan. I have high hopes for POE 2. Currently design choices feel out of date for a modern game. I love classic gameplay and appreciate POE honors older ARPG values. However, I feel some areas of focus are outdated:
Skip campaign - We do not want to spend 10 to 25 hours per alt character being forced to replay a campaign. This is not fun, we are not having fun. We are forced to play not having fun for 25 hours while waiting to have fun in end game. Auction house - In 2025 I am surprised we still have to use an external site for player trading. This is a huge inconvenience to players. This also opens up players to be scammed. The "Trade League" is literally aimed at players wanting to trade. Mobility skills - The maps are too big. We want mobility skills, not checkpoints. Even if the maps were small, we want mobility skills. Mobility skills are fun, we want to have fun. No xp loss on death - Going backward in progress never feels good. Death recap - GGG wants us to learn from our deaths. How can we learn when we don't know what killed us? Poll the public - I know the motto is "We know what is best for the player, we give them what they need, not what they want.". But when the player base overwhelmingly wants something, GGG could be more considerate to at least measure public opinion accurately. Last bumped on Apr 18, 2025, 6:35:41 PM
