POE 2: Static Starting Atlas Idea
I've had an idea in mind since last patch and here's my take: GGG makes a starting area with all map layouts statically placed. Effectively its a port of the POE 1 atlas of worlds into the 3D environment of POE 2.
You can replay all the maps in this area with your crafted way stones. Towers, corruption, unique maps are scattered within to introduce the areas and make it interesting. Mechanics (Breach, Exped, etc) are tied to your atlas with nodes that guarantee their chance. Tablets go into your map device for juicing. They could even neatly put the map layouts in their biomes and make the areas look really nice. Upon reaching the edge of the static area, if you like the atlas procedural generation and exploration then the nodes will continue on forever. Players will then have the choice of running their layouts or exploring like the current state. Atlas points could be tied to completing layouts, which now doesn't feel impossible or RNG based since you just need to travel the static starting area. I think this would be a fun way of incorporating a lot of hard work that's already been done on POE 2 while giving people a static area that can be utilized for endgame grind.
