Severe Instance Lag on Certain California Servers Since Recent Patch
Since the patch two days ago, I’ve been consistently running into lag issues on specific instance servers in the California realm. The issue doesn’t affect all California instances — some are completely smooth and behave as expected.
Here’s what I’ve observed: Normal behavior: Idle ping is ~21ms, smooth gameplay. Affected instances: Idle ping sits around 15ms, but spikes to 100–120ms the moment I perform any in-game actions (movement, skills, etc.). The high ping persists during any action and drops back to 15ms when idle again. Some California instances give a stable 45–50ms instead of 21ms — unclear if that’s related. Texas realm is stable at 45ms across all instances, no action-based spikes. Example problem instance server IP: 172.240.69.93:21360 Client-Safe Instance ID = 3416687780 What I’ve tried: Tested on multiple characters and areas Traced routing to the instance (no packet loss or ISP issues) Switching to Texas realm avoids the issue but increases latency It seems like a subset of California instance servers were affected by something in the latest 0.2.0f patch — possibly misconfiguration or overload under load.
