How can there be a different vision when the content is the same

How can PoE2 have a different vision when the content and tools available to the player are exactly the same as PoE1?

If you want the gameplay of PoE2 to be different than PoE1, you can't expect that to happen with the itemization being basically the same, the content being basically the same, etc.

People use the tools given to them to complete the content given to them; if the tools and content are the same as PoE1, well, you're going to see PoE1 gameplay.

In order to facilitate a different style of gameplay, items would need to have different modifiers and interact with our characters and abilities in different ways that they currently do.

The content would have to be tailored to the desired style of gameplay.

Things like Ritual, Delerium, etc. were designed for PoE1, so only PoE1 gameplay styles are going to work for that content. How can there be "slower, methodical combat" for content that requires you to clear it as fast as possible?

I kinda feel the same, im a bit disappointed they ported breach and delirium to poe2 the way they did. I remember i quit 0.1 the first time i opened a breach in a map
I've said this in a few posts now, especially for those people who tell me its a different game and to stop living in the past.

Acts and areas are revamped (very very well i hasten to add), but revamped all the same. Town vendors are the same but trying not to be.

It is a shiny version of poe 1 with a vision that seems to be supported by the minority rather than the majority.

I am enjoying end game though, i do like the map changes and juicing
Its just the campaign that i will not willingly play again until it has some tweaks and vision changes.

But today is going to be try a different game day and see how that looks.

And i'm happy a lot of people are realizing this and trying to bring it to ggg attention, we may have a 1% chance of them realizing the mistakes they made with trying to fit poe 1 mechanics into poe 2

Idk about the minority/majority thing, poe 2 already is more popular than any poe 1 league ever, it brought a huge new playerbase to the game, and what brought this audience in was the game being promoted as easier to get in and the combat itself which looked really good, like how different skills interacted with each other and what not, just look at the 1st mercenary gameplay for example

I'm all for it the game being a bit slower and methodical, that doesn't mean i want a dark souls, poe 2 is not supposed to replace poe 1, they're intended to coexist as different games

It was always going to be more popular as you have all the poe 1 players who have been hyped for years about it playing, plus the reach out to new players to poe with the "its not as hard as poe 1 to understand and play" line

Thats not whats important though
Replayability and Retention to keep coming back is what makes this game keep afloat with money for future developments
This league for me does not have the Replayability aspect. There is no way on earth i will willingly do the campaign again in its present condition, and unfortunately that is what a game like this relies on. Making new chaacters

POE 1 became an awfully big and often confusing game, unless you had played from the beginning and was always here for each layer of hardness added.

I like POE 2, i like all sorts about it
I dont like slwoing the game down by dumbing the characters down whilst buffing the white mobs to be alerted almost off screen, speed to you, surround you and then stun you by poking you with a toothpick
That was just lazy on their part.

I'll stick around and see if things change for the better for my style of playing

In GGG defence they have kept me occupied for over 12 years with 1 game being brought back out every 3 months
I am hopefull they will do the same again with this iteration of the game.

Hopefully, after the biggest issues players keep yelling about (and a new PoE1 league comes out), the next updates will focus on modifying the league mechanics they ported from PoE1 to fit what PoE2 is trying to do.

Same goes for certain item mods, defenses, etc. There's just too much noise right now to draw attention to it.
I wouldn't say the content is the same. The infrastructure / skeleton is often the same but content gets built on top of that skeleton.

For me though the new content isn't hooking me the way I'd like. I find myself doing a few maps, getting bored, and do something else for the rest of the night only to repeat the issue the next day.
