Corrupted nexus

I am a little torn here. I don't dislike the corrupted nexus but i also do not like that i am at the mercy of map RNG to level my atlas. I still need to complete a level 6 nexus but i am already doing pinnacle fights and citadels. I mean it is not the end of the world realistically for this game as the atlas passives just serve as a milestone progression but it feels a little bad when you use a tier 15 waystone on it and you only get 2 points.

I am wondering if it is a bad idea to allocate points based on the tier map you do a nexus on to give those atlas points in full. I do understand people could cheese with a friend to carry them for their points but that kinda already happens but on a slower pace.

Also why do we not get atlas passives for beating each citadel once? would that be so bad?
