I cannot put my finger on why this patch feels bad...

I WANT to love this game. I have always been an RPG player. I played KOTOR 2 times in the first 24 hours of owning the game. I love the character building and customisation but it just seems so hard in this game. Crafting is just the worst type of RNG luck. there is not way to narrow down the stats you want. Its painful and forces players to use the trade site. Have you seen how few items there are on the trade site this patch? The options available for upgrades are really bad.
The campaign was annoying and act 2 boss was just a wall until I power farmed a few levels and went back with Gas Arrow. It wasn't that it was hard it was just a constant battle to run and try and find time to attack. The micro stuns from everything were annoying and I am happy to see them go. All this reads like minor issues but I guess its just the "drip drip drip to you just go pop!" Its all the little things that just take away from the game I want to enjoy. 0.1.0 was broken. I get it. I expected changes and nerfs but this was just so heavy it felt like it was trying to be a different game entirely. SOULs like in an ARPG? Okay I can get behind that but eventually you want to be one-shotting the bosses because that's what an ARPG is. Become as OP as you can. Maybe others can chime in with some constructive comments but something has just been off this patch. I normally love playing this game but when I am dying to ROA dismounts or getting stuck in a patch of corrupted spawn its just painful and I have found myself just not wanting to play. Is this a mechanic or a bug I do not know. Lack of loot. Lack of upgrades. Lack of crafting. Lack of fun. Its not the difficulty. its the annoyance factor that is killing it. Honestly the campaign was fun, doing it twice was more fun with new spells
But endgame isn't.....if you are in endgame and you feel this way, it's okay, that's what many are feeling right now |

Progression is also very unbalanced right now. Like you said - "Okay I can get behind that but eventually you want to be one-shotting the bosses because that's what an ARPG is. Become as OP as you can." It's all about the power fantasy through scaling overtime |

Lack of upgrades. Lack of crafting. Lack of fun. Up the loot and the rest falls into place. I dont understand why they dont want us to have fun. |

i found the game very fun until i finished the atlas progression and realized that theres basically no endgame content worth doing. theres no items i want to get because they nerfed everything, and "difficult content" is just scaled difficulty on the bosses i've already killed. trials are extremely tedious to perform and hugely luck dependent, and now you have 1 single build blasting the shit out of the game and leaving everyone else in the dust. What was the point of the nerfs then ?

Loot barely exists in this patch. I'm literally scraping the barrel trying to get exalts to even slam my maps most of the time. League events aren't nearly rewarding enough either.
"Crafting" if you even want to call it that is still complete garbage. They literally couldn't even get fractured items to work properly with omens of whittling lol. I would say the only good thing about this patch is honestly the bosses. at least with my build they actually feel engaging and fun for the most part. |

i'll explain why these games keep missing the mark and failing
they are trying way to hard to make all these little details matter the vast vast majority of gamers do not want to crunch %'s or try and figure out complicated skill trees etc these games keep trying to make all these little nitch abilities.. "If you do X, you gain x % of damage as poison damage". "you have to build x amount of stages as chill to freeze an enemy for x seconds" etc these are terribly uninteresting and boring in a video game, if you want "freeze" in your game.. there should just be a skill that freezes enemies. no stacking, no timers, no staging or %'s or intensity or whatever the hell they call it.. just have a skill that does x damage and freezes enemys for x seconds, why try and make something as simple as freezing an enemy overly complicated. this goes beyond just skills.. they do this to everything to try and make their games look "deep" or complex.. all it really does it make things more tedious and less fun the problem is devs dont know how to make good games any more.. so they need to do this to make their games seem like they are more than what they are Last edited by BrainVs#6980 on Apr 16, 2025, 7:14:29 PM
