Trading and non-trading / Targeting specific unique items in SSF / Loot problem

So yeah, I've been playing SSF and have gone about a week without any major upgrades to my gear and I don’t even have that good of gear to begin with. Most unique items are either really bad or so random that it feels like I can’t actually use any of them. Getting a unique drop doesn’t feel exciting, it usually just feels like yet another random niche item that doesn’t fit my build at all. There really needs to be a better system for targeting specific uniques that we actually want for our characters current build.

We seriously need a system like the one in Last Epoch, where you could choose between two factions. One faction let you customize your item chase and had increased drop rates but didn’t have access to the auction house. Then the other faction had access to the auction house.

Make the faction choice permanent, so it can’t be changed later. That would make SSF so much better, while still letting people who want to trade keep doing so.

I know the common argument is “just use trading”, but I honestly find it so annoying. SSF is currently the only way I can enjoy the game. Or at the very least, if trading is expected, there should be an in-game auction house to streamline the process, the current trading system just feels incredibly outdated.
