Black Screen following recent patch tonight

Immediately following the patch that just happened today. Whenever my Huntress uses her lightning spear ability the screen may or may not go completely black. it also happens whenever bosses uses lightning abilities or a big animation goes off. Makes the game unplayable, please help

Set to DirectX11, worked here, but with big FPs loss

im having same issue when i enter the game. screen black but i also have random colors flashing all over place and didnt start happening till after this patch. switching to vulkan stopped that for me but its still unplayable because mobs and tiles take forever to appear

Edit: like raverozer said i tried directx11 and it fixed it but the fps is really bad. hopefully they fix this because everything was fine before patch
