Shroud Walker monsters with slam attacks

Playing an evasion-focused character I've noticed that slam monsters are real danger so I engage with them with caution and actively avoid their slams.
However, what happens with Shroud Walker modifier on such monsters is they start their slam windup, then teleport on top of me, and then they finish the animation usually instakilling me (so far I've mainly noticed it with Death Knight monster). I'm fine with slams being dangerous for my defence layers but I don't think having the counterplay be potentially nullified just by having a monster modifier is a good thing. It could be much better if for example the animation was reset, giving the player the time to react and adjust position.
