Mercenary feedback

I've spent the last few days playing the Mercenary. These are my thoughts:

Load Insert skill Bolts - Unneeded bloat. No other class needs to push an extra button just to use another skill. We already have reload ad nauseum. A ranger doesnt need to push Load Lightning Shot to shoot lightning shot - Remove this now. It suits no purpose.

Reload - It just doesn't feel consistent. Sometimes it reloads, other times it doesn't. Rolling delays everything including reloading. Make reloading more consistent or get rid of it altogether. Also, allow your bolts to be reloaded during dodge/roll.

So much waiting and delays (see above points). We already have delays built in to grenades. Get rid of all the other needless delays (above).

Lastly, I think a skill like a net or trap that holds enemies would be a welcome addition.

Love the class, but the mechanics need A LOT of work.

I don't want another ranger. What you criticize makes this class feel unique with its own playstyle. Part of the class balance is that bolts can feel more impactful than arrows, but that comes at a cost (e.g. the weapon needing to reload). And reloading makes you more vulnerable for a certain time, thats why its intended that you don't skip that time with dodge rolling while reloading. It's also realistic: try reloading a real weapon while performing acrobatic manovers.
the reload and bolt changing time is basically non-existent with minimal attack speed investment.

there's also the "Instant Reload" passive on the passive tree which dramatically cuts the reload time down (about 70-80%)

as for "net/trap" use the flashbang skill or pinning support on your attacks.



unrelated but relevant to crossbow... Crossbow needs a movement skill, badly. just to cross gaps etc
Respectfully, the OP are my opinions on what I think needs the most attention on the Mercenary class for both QoL and sensibility.

Your opinions may vary, but I stand by my feedback.
