Is this normal??

Hi guys
Let me start by saying I'm not an expert at the game.
Sure, I don't have the level of experience like others have.

But I'm following a guide since I noticed I cannot do it by myself.


I died 109 times, played for 3 days.

I'm using this guide and yet I'm still struggling

I have full resistances. I have a good spear, yet I barely do enough damage fast to kill the bosses in Act 3 Cruel.






I'm struggling with both the Azog Bok boss and with the Queen of the Filth.
I just cannot beat them....

Have they really changed the game so much since 0.1?
I had so much fun in 0.1 and it felt so good to play back then...
Now I lost all motivation to continue, I just don't have the energy to start a new class/new character.

I'm not an expert...

But I avoided amazon because lack of def

java zon is not 100% good vs bosses. but sadly the lack of toughness is evidente for every char in this game. because passive tree do not proviod enough resources to keep you alive.

from my experience with java zon, i playe and hit level 88, the toon needs to stack alot of life, so they have to add more points that increase life, and other important point, is they have to improve evassion and block chance.

all chars in game are vunrable and toughness in general must be rework.

Tbh, you shouldn't have any issue against campaign boss. What skills do you use against those boss ? Storm Lance & Explosive Spear is all I needed to clear them for exemple. You maybe lack a +X to projectile skills in your spear but it shouldn't be to the point that you cannot kill them.

Also, 109 is quite a lot. 3 days playtime is also quite a lot for stil being in campaign. So yeah, I think your problem is your lack of experience. Maybe this gameplay doesn't fit you well as it's quite glass cannon (hit hard but doesn't have the best survivability) so it rely mostly on being ranged & actively avoid getting hit aka. player skills.

Never played huntress so not sure how feasible this is but mixing some energy shield onto gear can help with surviving a lot.

Theres 1 passive notable you might be able to reach that grants added evasion based on energy shield of helm (between ranged/monk region). If you can get that node and a pure energy shield helm it can make a big difference.

Evasion is great defense but doesn't feel great until its above 65%, 80% feels even better.

Are you getting killed by her Jump and Roll?
For the Queen...

You can try ...
Stay very close to her ... i mean loops around her belly.

But if you dont have the DPS to kill her in under 2 min.
Its hard, you will likely get one shot at some point.
Stayingg close to her takes away that jump slam , one shot move.

I'm playing similar build for league start and I can't even get past act 2.. DPS is way too low for bosses, survivability lacking, and there's basically no way to improve my gear at this point without progressing in the campaign or just starting over to farm more currency.

And before anyone tries to say it's a lack of experience, I have between PoE 1 and 2 over 1.6k hours. I've never been especially good but I consistently get to T15 maps. This is just a dogshit difficulty curve for first character of a league, and I really don't even feel motivated to make a new one. This shit just isn't fun, why would I want to do it again?

You have very little dex and the build is built around dex and accuracy stacking.
More dex = more crit chance, more accuracy = more added physical damage. You also wont deal much damage if you have no frenzy charges.

In the end, someone else helped me to beat her.
I'm not in the endgame after I have changed a few nodes in the Passive Tree for % increased attack speed , lightning penetration and critical hit chance.

I play Explosive Spear, Lance Spear, Lightning spear with Sniper's Mark for easy kills.

Turns out that I needed to have more armour on my gear + better energy shield
Still... the VISION with the Huntress is tough , at least in the beginning

Damage is worth nothing if you don´t have any defence. Your Evasion is 39% that is basically nothing.

Aim for at leat 75% then you will have no problems.
