prioritize shrines over essences. . . . . . .

I just had a shrine spawn between 2 essences and i could not pick it up in the middle of combat without also releasing a essence monster when my intention was to remove a threat and buff myself.
I understand this game is near impossible to translate to a controller but stuff like this is infuriating
