spectres

Hey everyone,

After waiting so long, we finally have spectres in PoE2—but honestly, they feel underwhelming in terms of cost and dps efficiency. While they might have some niche utility for other classes, but as a summoner, they don’t really make sense to use. Even the 50 spirit cost spectre isn’t worth it, especially when I can summon two skeletons instead, which provide more DPS overall.

I feel that spectres need some adjustments to make them viable for summoning builds. Either increase their DPS output or reduce their spirit costs by 30–40%, so they’re at least comparable to skeletons in terms of performance and resource investment.


Also, why we can't simply release the spectre? why we have to use new gem every time. it's stupid. make them same as in poe1

Any good specter was disabled within like 5-10 min of discovery.

Spectres are sadly completely useless atm Even if you exclude crazy costs most spectres are either to slow to do anything or just dont do anything.

Was waiting for it and im VERY VERY disappointed with this.

this what happens when developers are not playing the game they are creating.

let's release a patch than recieve huge amount of negative feedback inbacg than release 1500 patches to bring everything back. GGG learning from Blizzards
Man 100 spirit cost for a mediocre spectre is just awful. I can have what 4 skeletons at 24 spirit each, there is just no benefit. If a spectre costs 100 spirit that thing better be the mack daddy of minions but they just arent. Combine that with that with not being able to change spectres without finding and using a new skill gem makes the idea of choosing one stressful. Like everyone else I was pumped about this skill the most and now I dont even waste my time with it.

Yeah, there are some fun things, like playing pokemon; however after trying a whole bunch of them and going through a bunch of skill gems- its exactly as the op said. Dey shit.

Overpriced and useless. Its not even like you're paying and getting something, its actually not even close to being worth the spirit- in comparison to minions that already exist.

This is becoming what I've started to refer to as a 'classic'. They release something NOT EVEN CLOSE to being tuned.

Its like what league of legends did with new champs, probly still does. Super broken on release. So then perma banned on release, so no one can play the new champs. Its just laughable.

Not only all of this- but its instantly obvious to the community of ding dongs. I mean, ffs.

It was fun though, until I found out it sucked. Although, I did expect it to suck instantly when I tried to capture my first minion and saw the 60 spirit. Whoa, expensive, these must be POWERFUL. HA.

Spectres are incredible currently, and the top performing ones need a nerf (mostly because there's numerical bugs in their stats).

I literally just walk from one end of the map to the other picking up loot and occasionally dropping a curse on rares/bosses while drinking a coffee because i dont need to touch my keyboard. Pinnacle bosses die before they can do anything dangerous.

They are vastly superior to fixed minions like skeletons or zombies.

ya ... no. spectres are in a terrible place.

99.9% of them are unusable for various reasons. from slow movement speed, to bad dmg, to shit AI.... the top 2 spectres, which the vast majority of minion players use, make it is so your cpu/gpu and eyes melt, and most parties will kick you if you use them.

the problem with minions is still being tied to +minion level on ... say it with me.... 4, manditory slots. with a 5th manditory slot, the belt, having the same things being put in them in the reservation talismans. with another 6th, manditory slot in prism of belief on your passive tree, and with most builds being pidgeon holded into using 2 ventors rings for the spirit and res.

thats 8 fucking places, that, you NEED to have the same fucking thing as literally, everyone else. its dog shit.

minions in general, is in a dogshit place.
and everyone knows it, except ggg apparently.

literally every other game even remotely in this games genre/space, has a better implementation of necromancy/minions... including their... ahem.. other.. better... game in poe1.

their pass of spirit costs of minions was a dud. and needs to be done again, preferably, by someone who knows wtf they are doing, and can count past 100..

they need to figure out something else other than +minion level to scale minions... and if they dont, they need to massively change the weighting system for it or give us something to be able to deterministically craft it,.. literally anything. anything that isnt what we got now.. which is basically ... buy it off someone who got it in their casino crafting system with any other mods remotely being useful at .01% odds.

they need to start making more than 2-3 spectres being usable, in some way shape or form. no one fucking cares how. but they need to do it. you cant look at 200 mobs during the campaign, and go. WOW THAT MOB JUST OWNED ME.... MUST BE A GOOD SPECTRE... only to waste your time clicking their name, and having to go back to town to delete it off your gem.

and they need to make skeletons better still too. cuz they are dog shit just like spectres.

unless your a richboi, with +35 or higher levels on your chosen minion. the dmg is subpar. and good fucking luck getting to +35 minion levels.

I't the other way around. Spectre are total utter overpriced hot garbage.


Even if they halved their cost i would not touch any of them in my build.

We don't even have good support spectre either. Spectre are still a dead mechanic, anything you see on youtube is just for the buzz/view. A real minion player that has been playing since 0.1 would know that.

I'll take the worst of the 3 elemental skeletons we have: arsonists against ANY 'top' spectre.

Arsonists are the weakest of the elemental skeletons, and yet, they are by a so far superior to any existing spectre.

The ants cost are ludicrous if thats what you are going to use as a reference.
