Don't offend hard core players, but let us casual players have a chance!

Let me start by saying I love this game...mostly. But, wow can it be unforgiving. I get that serious players like things a certain way, but having a bit more options for casual players would be amazing. My husband and I have played this every day for the past two months, and we are stuck at a boss that has literally ruined the game for us. Unless I'm missing something, is there an arena or something that you can grind to get relatively good exp? Because we've leveled way past the boss, so exp trickles in at best, but the boss still kicks our asses. Take note of games that have story mode...so the average Joe can see the whole story. We couldn't care less about competing with other players, so take us out of the standings or whatever you have to do...just let us kill monsters with our cool powers and have fun. I imagine that a microtransaction store that seems to sell mostly cosmetic items would be aimed primarily at casual gamers, right? How much money do you expect those players to spend when they bail after a week of playing? I want to play this game more. I'm willing to give it a chance. I don't want to stop anyone else from playing the way they want, just give everyone a chance to enjoy the game. Like maybe if you are in "story mode" after being defeated by a boss you can jump back in the fight and his health is where you left off instead of fully healed, or like I said, a way to get a reasonable amount of exp outside of the main story line, like some kind of arena that levels with you. Trying the to kill same boss literally two dozen times is a sure way to get people to rage quit, not buy a pet duck.

Softcore trade is already the casual mode. You can progress easily by buying gear, using resources like trade and there's no penalty for failure.
Even casual players can beat the entire game without hours of grinding or extreme min-maxing, there are plenty of guides, budget builds, and tools to help.

A "story mode" makes sense in single player or narrative driven games like BG3, but PoE is centered around player interaction, combat, loot, and a player driven economy, not the story.
While there is a story, it's mainly a tool to deliver content, not the core focus of the game.

Respawning bosses with saved HP or inflating XP would break the core design. If you're stuck, adjusting your build or strategy with available resources is the way forward, not asking for an easier mode.
