Volt no longer working

Im using the Volt support gem on the lightning spear attack. It was working perfect last night and I was loving the gameplay. Unfortunately, today I did a respec on my passive tree and now it no longer seems to be working at all. I do not see the orb floating around me that lets you know the support gem is in effect, and the difference in damage is obvious when playing.
PLEASE help me! I'm desperate here
