Cannot Complete Ascent to Power

If you die and kill Barbala at the same time, the quest progresses, but Zarka has nothing to say at the caravan. Killing Barbala a second time does not do anything.

I've already completed my ascension. It just bothers me the quest is forever uncompleted.
