Downloading PoE2 - stuck at 256KB remaining to download, speed 0 B/s. [SOLUTION FOUND!]

During downloading game files there were multiple times when download process stopped, so I had to restart the installation.
At first it downloaded like 20GB in one chunk before stopping, but near the end of download the chunks the game was able to download in one go became smaller and smaller. Now I'm stuck at 256KB remaining. Trying to close and open the installer again doesn't help. What to do? The game is available for Windows, macOS, PlayStation, and Xbox and you’ve provided essentially zero information…
How much free space does your SSD have? Which third-party security software (if any) is running that may be interfering? Have you tried troubleshooting potential permissions issues - e.g. on Windows have you checked whether the folder is Read Only, and did you try right-clicking on the installer and selecting ‘Run as Administrator’ ? Found the solution for this problem in the thread for PoE2: Dawn of the Hunt launch (live updates). So the solution is: Change DNS settings to 1.1.1.1/1.0.0.1 This is for Windows 11 24h2 btw. Go to Settings - Network & Internet - Ethernet Find "DNS server assignment" line, press Edit button. In the "Edit DNS settings" popup change "Automatic (DHCP)" to "Manual". Set IPv4 to "On". Set "Preferred DNS" to 1.1.1.1 Set "DNS over HTTPS" to "On (automatic template)". Also (don't know if it needed actually): Set "Alternate DNS" to 1.0.0.1 Set "DNS over HTTPS" to "On (automatic template)". Press "Save" It also fixed the problem with downloading files for PoE1 (download stopped after every 200 - 300 MBs, needed to close the program window and start the installation again, rinse and repeat). |

anyone got solution for windows 10 by any chance?
