I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the transmog system

It makes zero sense in a game where you constantly chase for new gear, you have to spend a consumable every time you want to change to keep your look? Honestly I'll just not do it at all. I expected something much better than the POE1 transmog system. Just let us permanently unlock and save the look of any in-game gears with the premium currency. Or just allow us to buy the transmog function as a whole!
The POE1 transmog system is the worst you can possibly get! (In case you didn't notice, skin transfer is in the shop now) Last edited by Borealis#0416 on Apr 11, 2025, 10:24:03 PM Last bumped on Apr 17, 2025, 6:10:11 PM

100% agree. Who doesnt like to look cool? I get the mtx shop is another way to help game development but there should also be other in game free ways to look cool. Im really suprised this hasnt grabbed more attention.

As I said before...
Would be nice to unlock permantly one visual per transfer... Or even have one unlockable with a higher point price |

As someone who REALLY loves and uses the transmog system in every game that has it, POE2's "idea" of a transmog is depressing (and monetarily predatory) as a single-use consumable in a game with 3 million item drops. Even if I were insane enough to buy one there would be no incentive to use it at all for anything other than a truly perfectly rolled item, which lets be honest never happens. Its monetization design is incredibly shortsighted because if POE2 offered an actual account-wide transmog system for like 250/500points many would gladly buy it in an instant (personally I really love base game items, especially for Sorc/Witch) and in doing so they'd earn far more from this, rather than nothing. This is good to know... and definitely disappointing.
Many of the cash shop items in this game are absurd in pricing and employ tactics we rightfully declare predatory in other games (including F2P games). It's bizarre that GGG gets away with worse than what many other companies would dare to charge. A suggestion to GGG for the skin transfer thing... I get that GGG wants us to buy multiple of these things to maximize profit, but here is a compromise: Charge $5-6 and make it work on one armor at a time, but it's reusable. When you remove the transmog, you get the visual armor back AND the MTX item back. That way you can use the same MTX item to change the appearance of a future gear piece. Or hell, maybe even tie the MTX item to that one armor you used for appearance, so you can keep re-applying that one visual to whatever upgraded piece you get. This no longer financially punishes players for finding/crafting better gear, which is exactly what this sort of game is built around. This would still encourage multiple sales because you'd need one item per piece of gear per visual slot (chest, boots, gloves, etc.) and this would still be per character. Plus some characters may have a few different gear items that they switch between depending on activity, so that would justify further purchases. |

its marketing.
You want nice looking gear ? buy some with $$. transmog is working like that since poe1 2017+-. The gear you get ingame is TARGETED to looks like s*** by purpose. And Its better to buy some supporter pack with full armor. No more basic a** looking gear. SSF player✔️
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!? |
