Tried out Bleeding Concotion with Spear swapping...
And I'm not happy.
I did invest every single point in passives in Charge Generation for flasks, and now I'm heading towards reduced cost of flasks (18%, not great, but hopefully that'll help a bit), but there's no sustainability at all. It appears that Concotion skill shall not be the main skill anymore, because you're unable to use it continueisly. With Wide Belt implicit (25% increased charges gained which I doubt it works at all, beucase there's no info in Character Sheet that it works or does anything) or that unique Linen Belt for charges, it doesn't change anything. You're running out of charges almost instantly. During Boss fights... well, you have to stick to survivability, because withour that, you're done. You won't do any damage (I mean, it deals a lot of damage as long as you're able to throw those flasks constantly, but when you run out of flasks, for over a minute you do absolutely nothing, you just avoid attacks and that's it). I'm not complaining about damage itself, that's not bad. Of course it could be better, but let's be reasonable. I'm complaining about sustainability. And there's none. Also, there's no such thing as consistency in flask charge regeneration. Sometimes you gain 1 charge per 2-3 seconds and sometimes you get 3-4 per 2 seconds for whatever reason. When I asked about it one of the streamers he said that it might be some kind of a math rounding up thing. I did the math many times and it's not adding up at all. There are situations when you get a flask charge and 0.25 second later you get 3 charges out of nowhere. And now, I'm not writing about flask charges gained while killing monsters. I'm standing in place and testing it. Here's a video: https://streamable.com/igrcjw So basically, if I would like to make a Concotion only build, it won't happen. On maps you won't last long without any charges. When it comes to swapping to Spear and using Blood Hunt I guess its quite ok, but necessity of using Explosion Spear with Bleed support (to sustain bleed and increase Blood Loss) is kinda weird. I mean, it works, but why Explosion Spear (or any other Elemental Spear attack with Bleed support for ranged attack)? So, yes, that's why I'm using Basic Range Attack in like 30% of my playtime. It's much faster than any other skill, pure Phys Damage and can support it with things I need :) Not a fun way to play the game. EDIT: Concoct Support makes it even worse, not only because you have to make more investement to sustain both Mana and Life flasks, but also you won't have any healing, because 20% of all charges means you'll spend 15 charges per throw for 45% more Bleeding damage. IMO not worth. EDIT 2: And I haven't killed that boss in Molten Vault. I'm doing almost no damage to him. I skipped him and will go back in maybe 20-30 levels. I'm honestly surprised no one else has been talking about this, I've tried two poison concoction builds post-nerf from the 3-5 mana flask charge gain and you cannot sustain them.
You can't sustain charges in the campaign, with every gain node on the tree, and all the uniques for flask charge gain. it's a dead build and they shot it in the head for no reason whatsoever, it's just dead. GGG why? why would you make something unplayable, it's not even good or bad or whatever, it's just unplayable. there's not enough charge generation to play the skill you guys put into a whole ass ascendancy, why did zero people QC this change? |
