Tame Beast companion leveling

To anyone curious, you level up your companion by selecting "All gems" on an uncut gem. The option will appear on top if the companion is currently equipped.

Also, I am curious if anyone has found a good area/strategy to get good beast companions.

I currently use diretusk boar from infested barrens act 3 mods: prevent recovery above 50% and armoured. With meatshield and elemental army supports it is unkillable.

have you found after getting to maps that the mob is still tanky? I am using quadrilla with: loyalty, meat shield and last grasp supports and he dies very quickly

Both camps (jungle, infested barrens) Act 3.
One is spawning Gorilas, the other boar+crab.
Check modifiers before kill, if you want different then select "respawn at checkpoint"
