Romania ISP routing broken after 0.2.0, fixed only by Cloudflare Warp or VPN Netherlands

Description:
Starting with patch 0.2.0 in Path of Exile 2, changing zones into new instances (e.g., Clearfell Encampment → Clearfell, or any map instance) causes a severe and ever-increasing latency spike, rendering the character completely stuck and the game unplayable.

This behavior consistently occurs when transitioning into any new, larger instance (maps, story zones), but does not occur when entering smaller instances like towns or encampments.

Steps to Reproduce (100% Reproducible) nowadays after all I did, is at the 3rd map load:
Create a new character.
Enter Clearfell Encampment.
Transition into Clearfell (or any other new zone/map instance).
Observe latency spiking infinitely and character frozen/stuck.

Expected Result:
Smooth instance loading and normal latency behavior after zone transition.

Actual Result:
Zone loads visually.

Character appears in new zone.

Latency starts spiking (example: from 30ms to 10000+ms).

Character cannot move or interact.

Eventually client disconnects or requires force-quit.

Hardware & Setup:
Component Details
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600
GPU AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
Client Version Standalone POE2 Client (not Steam)
Networking Hardwired Ethernet to ASUS Raptor WiFi 6 Mesh
Networking Settings networking_type=auto (also tested TCP/UDP forced

Troubleshooting Performed:

Updated AMD GPU drivers - No change
Tested both Vulkan & DX12 Renderers- Issue persists on both
Used -gc 2 and -preload, --noipv6 --waitforpreload --nopreload --nolog launch commands - No improvement
Disabled Texture Streaming - No improvement
Disabled Multithreading - No improvement
Forced Networking to TCP and UDP - No improvement
Disabled IPv6 - No improvement
Changed Server Gateway - No improvement
Disabled AMD Radeon Boost/Anti-Lag/Chill No improvement

Logs & Evidence:
Client.txt from exact reproduction moment:
Attached in Bug Report (Available upon request or uploaded separately)

Screenshot of Latency Spiking:
Attached example (Ogham Village instance)

Notes:
The issue only began occurring after patch 0.2.0.
Prior to this patch, instance transitions were smooth.
This is reproducible across multiple characters and zones.
Small instances like towns/encampments do not trigger the issue.
Strong suspicion of server-client handshake or instance server sync failure during zone creation.
Hardware seems not to be the cause given testing scope and reproducibility.
Reinstalled windows - still occurs.

Suggested Areas to Investigate:
Instance Server handling post-0.2.0 changes.
AMD GPU or Ryzen specific client-server sync issue.
Texture streaming or asset preloading handling during new instance creation.
Network handshake bug when loading larger areas.

EDIT: 4/10/2025

Instance loading hang/freeze only fixed by VPN — major routing issue from Romania (ISP: [your ISP name]). Started with 0.2.0 patch. Without VPN = infinite latency spike on instance join. With VPN (Netherlands node) = stable but 150-200ms latency."

I have exactly the same problem. The only thing is, it was happening 2 days before the 0.2.0 too and continued after the patch. Currently, I'm constantly logging out and back in every time I change an instance and sometimes it persists after logging back in.

I have pretty much the same RIG and the issue started with 0.2.0 before that all was fine.

I see constant network jumps from 30ms to 250 ms, this must be related to servers because it does not matter which realm I connect to it happens on all of them (EU has different fiber connections to different part of the world)...

It's not my router or internet provider. I changed it for a test and it happens all the same on all servers.

hey, did the title of the post changed? how do you know it is a routing issue? I'm having the same problem, living in Turkey. As far as I remember Warp didn't solve the problem for me.
@Tosman#0215 mine was a routing issue, and Cloudflare Warp did "solve" it, and i mean solve in I found a workaround, GGG should solve the actual issue.

Yours might not be a routing one, have u tried a free VPN like Proton VPN? and see if it still occurs for you?

If it does, it means yours is not a routing issue.
